BJP lends its mite to poll campaign

The BJP cadre has finally swung into action to ensure the victory of SAD-BJP candidate Gurcharan Singh Galib from Ludhiana parliamentary constituency and to get maximum seats from Punjab.

The BJP cadre has finally swung into action to ensure the victory of SAD-BJP candidate Gurcharan Singh Galib from Ludhiana parliamentary constituency and to get maximum seats from Punjab. Ludhiana seat gains special significance as all the top leaders of BJP and NDA are going to participate in the Maha Rally,which will be held on May 10 here. The programme of corner meetings and door-to-door visits has been intensified.

While addressing these meetings,the convener of industries cell of the BJP,Ludhiana city,Jatinder Mittal and co-convener Jinesh Mehra stated that under the UPA government there has been unprecedented increase in the prices of essential commodities.

In ward number 19,female workers of BJP under the leadership of councilor Santosh Kalra organized a door-to- door campaign. Similarly,another meeting was organized in Janakpuri,which was presided over by the president of Bhartiya Janta Mahila Morcha,Poonam Ratra. On this occasion,Deputy Speaker,Punjab Assembly,Satpal Gosain,BJP Distt President OP Bharadwaj,Senior Deputy Mayor Parveen Bansal,Ward President O.P. Ratra were also present. Chander Prabha,Darshan Kaur,Shoba Rani,Kamlesh Rani,Satwant Kaur,Raksha Rani,Paramjit Kaur,Raj Rani,Asha Rani,Kaushalaya Rani and other members of Mahila Morcha conducted door-to-door campaign.

NDAs Maha Rally on May 10

As a last thrust to the election campaign in Punjab,all the top leaders of NDA will converge in Ludhiana on May 10 to address the Maha Rally,which is being organised jointly by SAD-BJP. In this rally,LK Advani along with BJP president Rajnath Singh and all the chief ministers of NDA-ruled states will participate in the rally. While giving this information,chairman of the organising committee,Satpal Gosain said that this was going to be a historical event.

Gosain said that it was expected that Chief Ministers of Gujrat,Bihar,Chhatisgarh,Himachal Pradesh,Madhya Pradesh,Karnatka and Punjab,Narinder Modi,Nitish Kumar,Dr Raman Singh,Prem Kumar Dhumal,Shivraj Chauhan,Yaduyorappa and Parkash Singh Badal will address the rally. In addition to these leaders,Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal,Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Modi,Vankya Naydu,Ex-Chief Minister of Delhi,Sushma Swaraj,former Cabinet Minister Jaswant Singh,General Secretary of BJP Arun Jetley,Manohar Joshi of Shiv Saina,Sharad Yadav of JDU,Chaudhary Ajit Singh Rashtriya Lok Dal,BJP General Secretary Gopinath Mundey and Balbir Punj will also join the rally. A rally will be held on Chandigarh Road in front of Vardhman Mill.

Galib gets more support

SAD-BJP candidate Gurcharan Singh Galib got a shot in the arm on Thursday when the people from Purvaanchal living in Ludhiana decided to vote and support him. The spokesman of this group,Vakil Chaudhari has said that they have more than one lakh voters in the city who will ensure the victory of Galib. Similarly,the All India Batwal Community Welfare Association has also announced the support for the SAD-BJP candidate Galib.
