3 more die of swine flu, toll 10

Four new patients have been diagnosed with swine flu, taking the total to 40.

With the death of three more patients due to swine flu, death toll in Ludhiana hospitals has touched 10 while a total of 40 patients have been diagnosed with swine flu.

The patients who died were a 42-year-old patient of Jawaddi in Ludhiana district, 35-year-old man from Sujanpur in Pathankot district and a 37-year-old woman of Jalandhar district.

Four new patients had been diagnosed with swine flu. They were a 55-year-old man from Khanna, a 60-year-old from Kundanpuri, a 47- year-old from Garhshankar, and a 49-year-old from Bathinda.

Out of the total 40 patients, 16 are from Ludhiana while the rest from other areas of Punjab. Out of the total 10 deaths, two patients were from Ludhiana.

Jawaddi is a low-income area in Ludhiana. A number of domestic helps come from this area to nearby colonies.
