Women kill brother for ‘harassment’

With the arrest of three persons including two girls,the Lucknow police claimed to have solved the murder case of 28-year-old Shahid,whose body was recovered from Pakka Pul in Hasanganj area in October.

With the arrest of three persons including two girls,the Lucknow police claimed to have solved the murder case of 28-year-old Shahid,whose body was recovered from Pakka Pul in Hasanganj area in October.

The arrested includes the two younger sisters of the deceased — Sufiyana (23) and Lubna (22) — and Lubna’s friend Raja alias Sameer.

A resident of Latouche road,Sameer works in a shoe shop in Kaiserbagh area,while Sufiyana and Lubna are unemployed. The fourth accused,Sameer’s friend Nadeem,is still absconding.

According to the police,the accused have confessed to their crime. The sisters told the police that Shahid,unemployed,used to regularly drink and beat them up.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Trans Gomti Paresh Pandey said: “The duo claimed that Shahid forced them into flesh trade.”

“Following regular harassment by their brother,both the girls decided to eliminate him. They contacted Sameer and made a plan,” said Virendra Kumar,in-charge of Hasanganj police station.

On October 8,2008,Lubna took her brother to Kaiserabagh area on the pretext of attending a wedding ceremony.

Sameer and Nadeem who were already waiting took Shahid to Charbagh area where they consumed liquor. Thereafter,they took him near Pakka Pul on a rickshaw and stabbed him.
