The secretary of the Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) died and his wife and two children suffered critical injuries after their car was hit by a speeding truck in Soraon,Allahabad,early on Friday morning. Nalin Kumar Awasthi was on way to Kanpur city with his wife Ranjana and children Manu (14) and Tanya (8) in a Wagon-R car from Varanasi. The accident occurred at Kurgaon village in Soraon. Awasthi died on the spot,his wife and children were admitted to a hospital in Allahabad,the police said. The truck driver has been arrested.
