A 22-year-old man was arrested and four minors detained Friday in connection with the alleged killing of a 17-year-old boy on Thursday, which led to ruckus and vandalism in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district.
The police said the killing was the fallout of a conflict between people from two communities over a teenaged girl.
Two of the minors were detained while they were moving to a hideout, police said.
The 22-year-old accused was arrested after a shootout, police said. The accused suffered a bullet injury on the leg, officers said.
“Three among the four minors have been named in the FIR,” said a police officer.
He added that the minors and the man would be produced before the court on Saturday. Police said they are verifying the age of minors.
