Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma, who will next be seen in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, spoke about the attacks on his cafe in Surrey, Canada, at the recently held trailer launch of the film. His eatery, called Kap’s Cafe, has been a target of shooting on three separate occasions.
Kapil shared that the authorities in Canada were involved in the matter. “What I feel is that the rules are there, and the police, perhaps, don’t have the power to control. But when our case happened, it went to the federal government, and there was a discussion in the Canadian parliament,” remarked Kapil. He added that the locals have been quite supportive and shared, “In fact, after every incident, we got a bigger opening at the cafe. So it is ok with me if god is with me.”
Kapil argued that attacks on the cafe brought attention to the area and got the authorities involved. “I believe whatever god does, we don’t get to know the story behind that. I got calls from a lot of people from there (Surrey) who told me that there were a lot of things happening, but after the firing at my cafe, it became news, and now steps are being taken to improve the law and order situation there,” said Kapil. He concluded by saying that he has “never felt unsafe in his own country and especially in Mumbai.”
The first attack on Kap’s Cafe, which is located in Surrey, took place in July, followed by the second attack in August, and a third attack in October.
Kapil’s latest film is being helmed by Anukalp Goswami and will also star Triptii Dimri, Shanaya Kapoor, Tarun Gahlot, and Ravi Kishan.
