At an event held at Ghantaghar Ramlila Maidan as part of the scheme, Adityanath handed over cheques to seven persons for setting up industries – from automobiles to packaging of sweet boxes. Among them, Rs 30 crore was given to a person named Sanjeev Kumar Gupta for manufacturing home appliances.

For Lokesh Kumar (23), a resident of Ashok Vihar Loni Dehat who got his appointment letter as a physiotherapy assistant at Kanishk Physiotherapy Delhi, it was a dream come true. “Yesterday, a programme coordinator called me and asked me to reach the venue by 8 am. When I reached here, I was told that I was going to get a job,” he said.

Kumar had on June 23 completed his six-month course as a general duty assistant in Ghaziabad under the Uttar Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

Speaking at the event, Adityanath said that soon, work on AIIMS Ghaziabad will begin and a proposal in this regard has been sent to the Union government. He added that the UP government is set to launch Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana, under which interest interest-free loan of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to youths for setting up businesses.

Taking on the Opposition, Adityanath said that Congress and Samajwadi Party have always made promises but nothing has been implemented on the ground. “All Congress and SP did was make big promises. But every time they came to power, they misused it, looted people and never benefited anyone except their family…,” he said.

“Aurangzeb’s soul has entered their bodies. All they want is to exploit youths and force businessmen to migrate,” he added.

Adityanath maintained that in the last seven years, Ghaziabad has developed as a smart city, which was not the case earlier.
