A small two-seater training aircraft of Aligarh-based Pioneer Flying Academy crashed into a field,leaving the pilot dead and a trainee with multiple fractures in Kwarsi area of the same district on Friday evening.
The aircraft crashed when it was about to land at the Dhanipur airbase. The director of the academy,Saroj Joshi said that they were trying to get information about the technical reasons leading to the crash.
The Aligarh SSP,Satyendra Vir Singh said that the aircraft was flying at the height of about 150 ft and was in the process of landing at the airbase,when suddenly it crashed into a field of Khangarhi village close to the Dhanipur airbase.
The pilot of the aircraft,Rakesh Grover was found dead while the trainee,IP Reddy was unconscious when the rescue team rushed to the site. Reddy has suffered multiple fractures on his body and is admitted to the hospital.
The academy,with its headquarter based in Delhi,has flying training at Aligarh in UP and Neemach in Madhya Pradesh.
