A tiger carcass was recovered from the north Kheri forest division of the state late on Tuesday night.
Though the body was sent for post mortem to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI),Bareilly,the exact cause of the death could not ascertained as the organs of the body were in highly decomposed state. According to forest department officials,the carcass is of an eight years old adult male tiger and is three meters in length. It was found in Palia range in Paraspur forest area in North Kheri forest division.
“We were informed about the carcass and we reached the spot by 8 pm on Tuesday,” said KK Singh,Divisional Forest Officer (DFO),North Kheri. “The body bore some injuries on its left front paw and in its tail portion and has been sent for postmortem,” he added.
The organs of the animal were also found to be intact.
“But the cause of the death cannot be identified as the body is around 48 hours old. In such cases,the internal organs begin disintegrating and it becomes difficult to identify the exact reason of its death,” said a senior IVRI official.
