SP govt not implementing central schemes properly: BJP MP writes to Modi

'It also delays the MPLAD funds — given by Centre but distributed by the state.'

BJP MP from Shahjahanpur, Krishna Raj, has submitted a “complaint” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, apprising him of the poor implementation of central schemes in her constituency.

“I have told the Prime Minister that the state government was not implementing central schemes properly. I have requested that the state be directed to ensure proper implementation of schemes,” Raj told The Indian Express.

She added: “My letter is based on what I have learnt during my visits to villages and meetings with district officials. Anganwadi kendras are closed, MGNRGEA has been taken up in a whimsical manner in a few villages… Funds are being received for construction of toilets (under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan) but the project is yet to gather pace. The few that have been constructed are lying unused.”

Krishna Raj is not alone. Other BJP MPs too feel that post the drubbing in the Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh is going slow on central schemes.

“I had raised the issue in the Parliament. Earlier, central schemes for rural areas were being implemented only in Ambedkar villages (under BSP government). Now, they are being implemented only in Samagra Gram villages,” said BJP MP from Shrawasti, Daddan Mishra, referring to Uttar Pradesh’s Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Samagra Gram Vikas Yojana.

Basti MP Harish Dwivedi said: “Our suggestions are not taken into consideration. Our recommendations in regard to central schemes are met with lackadaisical attitude.”

Dr Nepal Singh, BJP MP from Rampur, also claimed that the state government delays the implementation of central schemes.
