‘SP aims to disturb peace,harmony’

Dubbing the three day agitation by the Samajwadi Party as political drama, the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party.

Dubbing the three day agitation by the Samajwadi Party as political drama, the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party said the people of the state have rejected the SP’s call for dharna and demonstrations against the government. The BSP said that under the garb of protest, the SP tried to disturb the peace and harmony in the state. “But their attempts have been thwarted by the vigilant administration,” said Swami Prasad Maurya, state BSP chief.

He said the SP is fighting for its existence in the state and its desperate efforts to create some political space for itself through the agitation has drawn a blank. “The utter failure of the three-day agitation is a clear message to the Samajwadi Party that the people of UP can no more longer be taken for a ride by a party, which is known for patronising criminals and anti-social elements,” he said.

Alleging that the SP never had any concern for common people and the public interest,BSP leader said the opposition party deliberately gave the call for the agitation to disrupt the annual examinations of the several education boards, which are currently underway.

Defending the arrest of the SP state president Akhilesh Yadav, the BSP leader said it was a preventive arrest for maintaining law and order. He said every party has the democratic right to organise protest against the government but none can be permitted to damage the public property and disturb the law and order.
