Should I fight or give up,Nandi asks on Facebook,SMS

Nandi claimed that he has received a large number of SMSes,saying he should continue the fight.

Allahabad-based Nandi,who owns various factories and advertises his products with the tagline “Nandi Naam Vishwas Ka (Nandi is the name for trust)”,said he opted for the campaign to let people know the kind of pressure that is being put on him by criminals. “They have become more active after the new government has taken over,” he said.

The most recent case,where he was named as an accused,was the murder of Anita Yadav,wife of Rajesh Yadav,on June 12 in the Naini Industrial Area. Rajesh is an accused in the bomb attack case.

“A woman gets shot in Naini Industrial Area; they take my name. When I inquire from the complainants,they say there is pressure from the top to name him. A woman allegedly gets kidnapped and is rescued in Rajasthan; then too I am named for directing criminals to kidnap her. My children keep asking me what will happen now,” said Nandi.

Most of the cases in which Nandi has been named have ended up with no evidence against him. “I don’t come from a criminal or political background,” said Nandi.

On July 12,2010,Nandi was seriously injured in the bomb attack near his house,in which The Indian Express reporter Vijay Pratap Singh and another person were killed. Nandi remained hospitalised for several months.

SP MLA from Gyanpur (Bhadohi),Vijay Mishra,and several others are accused in the case. “I could not have named them in the FIR as I was unconscious for many days. But now they want to keep harassing me,so that I withdraw their names,” said Nandi. Mishra is the only accused in the case to have got bail from Allahabad High Court.
