Senior BSP leader held for govt staff’s murder

The Lucknow DIG,DK Thakur confirmed about Bobby’s arrest from Wazirganj area Saturday night on charges of getting Saif Haider Naqvi alias Saifi killed with the help of his associates Salim and Rustam.

Salim alias Imran was arrested by the special cell of the Delhi Police,along with his brothers,Rustam and Sohrab,on May 18. The three,who belong to Sadar area of Lucknow,were wanted for a string of murder and loot in Delhi.

Thakur said,during the questioning,Salim had told the police that he,along with Rustam,had shot dead Saifi,an employee of the Social Welfare Department,in Wazirganj area of Lucknow at the behest of Bobby on March 2. Salim had also told police that Bobby regarded Saifi as an obstacle in his illicit relations with a close relative of Saifi.

Delhi Police had videographed the interrogation proceedings and had sent the recording to the UP Police.

Salim had added that Bobby did not pay them for committing the murder.

Pankaj Kumar Singh,who is the investigating officer (IO) in the Saifi murder case,had visited Delhi and questioned the three brothers who have since been sent to jail on judicial remand.

Earlier,Lucknow police had arrested two persons? Shahzade and Rauf alias Mammu ? for hatching the conspiracy of Saifi’s murder and getting him eliminated with the help of their associates Salim and Rustam.

Earlier,Salim and Rustan were arrested from Bobby’s flat in Golaganj area of Lucknow by the police when the brother duo was wanted in a case of triple murder in 2005.

The Uttar Pradesh CB-CID had arrested Bobby and Jitendra Singh Babloo,BSP legislator from Bikapur,on March 4 from Hazratganj area for the arson at state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi’s home on July 15,2009. The day after the arrest,PWD minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui and then Mines minister Babu Singh Kushwaha,both close to the CM Mayawati,visited them in jail.

Bobby was appointed president of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Ganna Vikas Sansathan and had joined hours before the arson that very day.
