Guess whos caught the poll fever? Mumbai-based rock band Pentagram, whose new album will offer heavy-dose commentary on politics. The new,yet-untitled album will be the fourth for band members Vishal Dadlani (vocals),Randolph Correia (lead guitars),Shiraz Bhattacharya (drums) and Papal (bass). There are other themes like the global, urban and environment conditions but the album will not get antsy, says Randolph. Dadlani, also part of the Bollywood music duo Vishal-Shekhar,adds,We are trying something which is us but yet adventurous. In India, there is a lot of focus on Bollywood. I hope rockheads will like this new album with its very different theme. The album, which will release in June, will have eight tracks and includes elements of poetry, melody and groove which, band members says, are the perfect ingredients. The theme is called Political Dance Party and will reflect on what is going on now in a more uplifting way, he adds. The musical influences will be the mishmash that the band derives its style from. Bob Marley,U2 and Prodigy, the dark and desperate electronic sound is all set to rock yet again. This time, though,it will talks politics, says Papal. We vote for this one to rock the show.
