PM defending corrupt ministers: Katiyar

BJP accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of defending ministers involved in cases of corruption.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of defending ministers involved in cases of corruption.

BJP national vice-president Vinay Katiyar said that if the Prime Minister is clean and nowhere involved in corruption,he should accept the resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram (for being named in the 2G spectrum scam).

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow,Katiyar said the BJP does not want early Lok Sabha polls. But if the UPA government collapses,the BJP will be happy because it will show that we successfully played the role of Opposition, Katiyar said.

On the creation of three new districts in UP,Katiyar said the BSP would gain nothing by the move. Mayawati never interacted with the public in the past four years. The creation of new districts is only a political move for the BSP because Assembly elections are drawing near, he said.
