Stunt show members appeal for indulging in sport responsibly
Stunting as a sport is not permissable in India,so MTV has taken its show underground and while you see on the boobie-tube participants of Stuntmania Underground perform some deathly feats, its anchor calls up on the biking enthusiasts not to do the wheelies and stoppies without helmet and other gear.
Through the show, the channel wants motor sport, biking and free-wheeling to become legal and respectable in India, said Ranvijay, who anchors the show and was in Lucknow on Thursday to talk about its third season. Enthusiasts will pursue biking sport whether it gets legal sanction or not. But if it is recognised as a sport, they will do it more responsibly, said the winner of the first Roadies and a self-confessed biker, who even belted out a one-wheel swerve. Biking gear is available everywhere. Just make sure you have it on whether you are doing it or a near and dear one is trying it out.
Ranvijay also presented Babar Khan, the winner of the previous season. His parents never took him seriously enough even to buy him a motorcycle. But with the title under his belt,he is earning more than most of us crew members doing shows in India and abroad, he said about the 20 years old from Bhopal, who did all his rehearsal on his friends bike.
I would watch the stunts of Jorian Ponomareff on Youtube and even contacted him online. Inspired by him,I made my way to the title. I run an academy and in this season three participants are trained by me, said Khan, who is part of the show designing the stunts.
