While the search for the two missing cubs in Panna reserve continues, the forest authorities on Tuesday claimed that they have managed to track down the tigress that had gone missing for the last few days. “Today we found pug mark tracks of around 300 m and a fresh scat,” Field Director of Panna Tiger Reserve R Sreenivasa Murthy said about the tigress that was brought from Kanha last year.

The radio-collar of the Kanha tigress has not been working for the last 14 months. To add to the situation, the pug-marks of Kanha tigress could not be found, since she had gone missing,as it had not rained. The park management spent sleepless nights because of the tigress’s disappearance, which coincided with the separation of another tigress, brought from Bandhavgarh, from her litter after a fight with a tiger. While two cubs are safe now,the search for the remaining two has not yielded results. ENS
