ONGC triumphs in volleyball tourney

Star-studded team of ONGC Dehradun defeated Uttar Pradesh Police 25-20,25-23,25-17 to collect full points in their league match of the 10th All India Invitation Prize Money Volleyball Tournament being organised at KD Singh Babu Stadium,Lucknow.

In the other league matches,HSIDC Panchkula beat DLW Varanasi 3-0,SAI Rae Bareli beat Uttar Pradesh Police 3-1,HSIDC Panchkula beat Indian Army 3-0 while DLW Varanasi beat CRPF Delhi by 4-1.

NIEC wins Surya Cup

NIEC defeated BBDNITM by five wickets in the third mega final to bag the top honours in the 1st Surya T-20 Cricket Tournament 2010 organised at CEST playground,Mohanlalganj,Lucknow on Sunday.

The prize distribution ceremony was held in the evening. Former captain of Indian cricket team Mohammad Azharuddin gave away the prizes to the winners. While the NIEC team became richer by Rs 1,00,000,runner’s-up BBDNITM pocketed a sum of Rs 50,000 for its efforts. Man-of-the-final Abhishek Sharma,Man-of-the-Tournament Ranbir Singh,Best Batsman Tauseef Ahmed and Best Bowler Ranvijay Singh were given individual prizes.
