No order for FIR against ministers on ‘objectionable’ article: Govt

The state government on Sunday denied that the Jaunpur Chief Judicial Magistrate had passed any orders for the registration of an FIR against five state Cabinet ministers in connection with an article in the magazine Ambedkar Today,which allegedly denigrated Hindu gods,goddesses and religious books.

The state government on Sunday denied that the Jaunpur Chief Judicial Magistrate had passed any orders for the registration of an FIR against five state Cabinet ministers in connection with an article in the magazine Ambedkar Today,which allegedly denigrated Hindu gods,goddesses and religious books.

“There is no mention of any minister in the order,” said an official spokesman. On learning of the “objectionable” article,it ordered confiscation of the magazine,asked the district magistrate to cancel its registration and banned the reproduction of the article,besides ordering a CB-CID probe in the matter,added the spokesman.
