Mother,daughter among three found murdered

The families belong to lower-middle class and no valuables were found missing from both the houses. The evidence so far indicates that Ali’s wife and daughter were the targets and the old woman was killed as she witnessed the murder. The police,however,are searching for the clues,Thakur said.

The SP (Rural),Ajay Kumar Mishra,said the women were alone in the building when the incident took place. Om Prakash,who is a taxi driver,was away on his job while Ali had gone to visit a relative in Rae Bareli district yesterday. Ali supplies labourers at various brick kilns in the area. The house in which they live also belongs to a brick kiln owner,he said.

Mishra said the incident came to light around 10 pm yesterday when Om Prakash returned home and found his mother lying dead on the floor in the room. As he went to inquire Ali’s family,he found Zarina and her daughter also murdered. He informed the police immediately.

Mishra said the victims’ bodies bore multiple stabbing injuries and the gashes on their hands indicated they had resisted the attack. The utensils and other belongings were lying scattered in both the rooms confirming the resistance by the victims,he added.
