A day after the police recovered the body of 18-year-old Rahul Paswan,a group of locals attacked the house of the accused named in the murder case and set it ablaze in Etawahs Kotwali area today.
The mob broke the door,windows and furniture of Munnas house before setting it on fire. Soon,a police team rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The police said that at the time of the incident,no one was present inside the house.
The involvement of Rahuls family members in the attack is yet to be ascertained. No one has filed any complaint regarding todays incident till now, said Inspector Jitendra Singh Parihar. He added that an inquiry would be conducted into the incident.
According to Parihar,on October 31,Rahuls mother Asha Devi lodged a missing report with the police stating that his son had not returned home. During investigation the police found involvement of Rahuls neighbour Munna. The police then altered the missing report into kidnapping. On November 4,the body of Rahul was found from bushes near his house at Shivram Ranipur village. His family members filed a complaint with the police stating that Rahul was killed for objecting to the relationship between Munna and neighbour Nazreen.
According to the police,Rahul died due to strangulation and injury on his head.
