LU professor to get notice on Dutts visit

Following the stone pelting on actor and Samajwadi Party candidate Sanjay Dutts cavalcade on Sunday,the Lucknow University has decided to serve a notice to Professor PK Tandon.

Prof Tandons film-maker son Abhishek had invited Dutt to his home in the campus. The university maintains that it was Tandons duty to provide advance information about Dutts visit,and in absence of that information no arrangement for security could be made.

Chief Proctor Dr AN Singh said he has submitted a detailed report of the entire incident to the Vice-Chancellors office. A copy of the report has been sent to the local police.

The Vice-Chancellor might issue notice to Professor PK Tandon in a day or two, Singh said.

Sanjay Dutt,he pointed out,is a crowd puller,so particularly in view of the election and university examinations,Tandon had to inform the university authorities before inviting Dutt. Proper security arrangements could have been made to avoid such incidents.

Singh said Dutts partymen had not informed the local police either. I have sent a copy of report to the police and requested them to strengthen security in the campus, Singh said.
