On the kissing scorecard,Emran Hashmi loses out to Naseeruddin Shah.

For someone known more for his kiss-adventures than histrionics, actor Emran Hashmi admits he has lost out to Naseeruddin Shah, his senior and co-star in their forthcoming film The Dirty Picture.

“It’s Naseer who gets more to be with Vidya Balan, the heroine,on screen than me,” said Hashmi,at Reliance Digital in the Eastend Mall in Lucknow on Thursday.

He plays a south Indian film director in the biopic tracing the life and times of Silk Smitha, who rose in the ranks from being a make-up artiste to a dance extra and finally a popular heroine before ending her life. “It was my first experience playing a south Indian,so I had to do a lot of observation to perfect that aspect,” shared the actor.

“My part is serious and a departure from the romantic or villanous parts I have played so far,” he said, giving a peek into the much hyped and awaited film by Milan Luthria of Once Upon a Time in Mumbai-fame,up for release on December 2,the birth anniversary of Smitha.

“I am excited about Shanghai,my other film due for release,” said Hashmi,a regular in films of the Mahesh Bhatt camp. “It’s a thrilling film and I had great fun doing it,” he said.

About Murder-3,he was non-committal,despite the obvious that he will play the lead as in the previous two films of the franchise. “We are still working on the modalities and an announcement in that regard will soon be made,” said Hashmi.
