Kunda DSP murder: Pradhan’s son sent to juvenile home

A local court on Sunday sent Balipur pradhan Nanhe Yadav’s son,who is an accused in the murder of DSP Ziaul Haque,to a juvenile home after his lawyer claimed that he was a minor. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Neyaz Ahmad Ansari passed the order after advocate Basant Gupta submitted a photocopy of his high school marksheet,stating that that Yadav’s son was 16 years,nine months and 14 days on the day of the crime. He,along with the three other accused,was produced in the court by the CBI which arrested them on Saturday.

The court sent the three other accused — pradhan’s two brothers Phool Chand and Pawan and his associate Manjit — to Lucknow District Jail until April 28. The defence counsel said they informed the court that the agency had severely beaten up his clients during questioning. “The court directed medical examination of all the accused,” said the advocate.

The CBI is investigating the murders of the pradhan,his brother Suresh and Kunda circle officer DSP Ziaul Haque,which took place on March 2 at Balipur. CBI sources said Yadav’s son had allegedly fired at the DSP while others were involved in beating up the police officer before he was shot dead. The agency is likely to move an application before the court on Monday seeking their police remand. Sources said Yadav’s son had shot the DSP with the licensed weapon of his father.
