A day after the Allahabad High Court called upon the concerned parties to hear their views on the possibility of an amicable settlement of the title suits of the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi site,BJP vice president Vinay Katiyar asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take the initiative for an out-of-court settlement.
Talking to the media on Wednesday,Katiyar said the Union government should become a party to the case and file an affidavit requesting the court to give some more time for talks to reach a settlement.
Some people have filed an application in court, requesting it to examine the possibility of finding an amicable solution through dialogue, but these are only a few individuals, said Katiyar. I request the Prime Minister to take the initiative for an out-of-court settlement talks. Such a dialogue,he said, was initiated by former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and even though a date was fixed,it could not take place due to unavoidable circumstances.
Katiyar said he and other devotees want a grand Ram temple built at the spot, but with harmony.
We welcome the step taken by the court to call the parties to hear them about the possibility of a settlement, he said. We will also respect the judgment. The party in whose favour the decision comes will accept it,while the other will simply move Supreme Court.
