Joshi hits back,wants Maya out

Joshi said that in her speech at Moradabad,she spoke against Mayawati as an insensitive chief minister and woman,not Mayawati as a Dalit.

“I challenge you to tell the people if even once during your four stints as chief minister,you visited any woman victim to listen to her woes,” Joshi said. “I crossed a limit while using some words,but I did not use any casteist words. I also expressed regret later,but she (Mayawati) had some plans in her mind.” Alleging that the chief minister’s utterances show vindictiveness,Joshi said,“my house has already been set on fire,now they can attack me any time… She is rewarding those who are involved in the arson by giving them ministerial ranks.”

After addressing party workers,she visited her rsidence. “I took everything with courage but this is not done,” she said,surveying the damage. “This is the house of freedom fighter Govind Sahay. They not only destroyed precious pictures of my father but also pictures of Govind Sahay (owner Kranti Kumar’s father) with Nehruji. It is sad,” she said.

CB-CID begins investigation
The CB-CID on Monday began investigations into the attack on the house of Rita Bahuguna Joshi. The Lucknow police also seized a Toyota Qualis from Hazratganj which was allegedly used by the men who attacked Joshi’s residence.
