IPS officer’s daughter found dead in Lucknow law university hostel room
The victim, 19, was the daughter of a senior IPS officer who is currently posted with the National Investigation Agency (NIA). After recovering the body, the police sent it for a post-mortem examination.

A third-year law student was found dead in a hostel room at a law university in Lucknow on Saturday night.
The victim, 19, was the daughter of a senior IPS officer who is currently posted with the National Investigation Agency (NIA). After recovering the body, the police sent it for a post-mortem examination.
Lucknow Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh said the cause of death could not be ascertained from the post-mortem report and hence the victim’s viscera has been preserved for further examination.
The fifth-semester student had a history of health issues, the police said. The university informed the police that her room was locked from inside.
When she did not respond to repeated knocks on the door made by a student, other students and university staff were alerted. They broke open the door and found the girl lying on the floor. She was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared her dead. No visible injuries were found on her body.
The victim’s father is an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, it is learnt.
