IIT-JEE results to be out on May 25

After completing the formalities related to IIT Joint Entrance Exam 2011,IIT-Kanpur authorities on Tuesday formally announced the dates for display of model solutions,declaration of results and display of scanned images of the students’ Optical Response Sheets.

After completing the formalities related to IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IIT JEE) 2011,IIT-Kanpur (IIT-K) authorities on Tuesday formally announced the dates for display of model solutions,declaration of results and display of scanned images of the students’ Optical Response Sheets (ORS).

IIT-K is the conducting body of the IIT JEE 2011,in which 4.85 lakh candidates are expected to appear in 1051 centres in different parts of the country on April 10.

ORS will be displayed on the website of all seven major IITs including Kanpur,Mumbai,Kharagpur,Chennai,Roorkee,Delhi and Guwahati.

IIT-K Director Sanjay Govind Dhande told media persons: “It has been ensured that there are no mistakes in the question paper and we have completed the formalities related to the exam.” Dhande maintained that to have a complete transparency in the admission system,each candidate will have the facility to check the model solutions and his or her ORS sheet.

“We will soon be allotting a separate password to each aspirant,with which the candidate can check only his/her ORS on the website,” he added. Dhande further stated that the display of model solutions 10 days before the results will facilitate the candidates evaluate their performance.

The IIT-K Director said the candidates will have to use pencil for marking their answers on ORS. He further said,“The students who qualified in IIT JEE 2010 and accepted their admission offer by paying the registration fee but did not join the programme offered to them,will not be eligible to appear for JEE 2011 or later.”

Under the IIT-K zone,the exams will be held at 173 centres in 12 cities of Uttar Pradesh,Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. A total of 80,348 candidates are likely to appear from the 12 cities under IIT-K zone including Lucknow,Kanpur,Gorakhpur,Agra,Allahabad,Jhansi,Rae Bareli,Nainital,Pant Nagar,Bhopal,Gwalior and Jabalpur.
