Five persons allegedly involved in the trade of illegal fire-arms were arrested today in Etah district,police said.

Mata Prasad,Prem Singh,Ram Autar,Rakesh Kumar and Vikram Singh were arrested by the Special Operations Group from Kotwali dehat area this afternoon,Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal told reporters.

He said a cache of arms and ammunition,including 10 country-made pistols and over 1,500 cartridges,were also recovered from them.

Three of the arrested accused hail from Rajasthan and revealed during interrogation that they run a shop selling fire-arm covers,from where they sell illegal arms,the ADG claimed.

He said that they had purchased more than 12,000 cartridges and hundreds of fire-arms which they traded elsewhere.
