Father commits suicide after killing daughter

“A suicide note has been recovered from Prabhat’s room which stated that he took the extreme step as he was facing a financial crisis,” said Rajiv Krishna,DIG,Lucknow.

Siddharth,who later gained senses,told the police that his father killed Shivangi and committed suicide about three days ago.

“Prabhat had also tried to strangulate his son before committing suicide,” the DIG added.

Siddharth,a student of Christ Church College,was admitted to Balrampur Hospital after some initial quizzing by the police.

Around three years ago,Prabhat’s wife Renu too had committed suicide. According to the police,Shivangi was staying with her father after getting a divorce. While Prabhat’s name plate claimed that he was a lawyer,neighbours said he was involved in property dealing.

“His another daughter stays with a relative in Delhi. She had shifted there after her mother committed suicide by jumping off a building,” said one of the neighbours.

The police,however,has not been able to figure out how Siddharth managed to survive.
