Dhananjay Singh backs BJP after BSP drops wife from Jaunpur
Urging people to vote for the BJP, Singh in a video said: “We have extended our support to the stable government that is currently running under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).”

Former MP and gangster-politician Dhananjay Singh has announced his support for the BJP and has been canvassing for the ruling party in Jaunpur.
Urging people to vote for the BJP, Singh in a video said: “We have extended our support to the stable government that is currently running under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).”
This comes days after his wife, Shrikala Reddy Singh, was dropped as the BSP candidate from Jaunpur and replaced by sitting MP Shyam Singh Yadav.
According to BSP leaders, Dhananjay Singh had informed them on Sunday night (May 5) — on the eve of the last day of filing nominations — that he would not contest the election and suggested an alternative candidate. Singh, however, denied the BSP leaders’ claim.
Meanwhile, Shrikala Reddy on Wednesday shared a photo of her meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on X. The BJP has fielded Kripa Shankar Singh from Jaunpur, while the SP has fielded former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha.
