Picasso’s animation movie and new breed of animators set to rock the market

After Bal Ganesh and Hanuman,it’s time for Baal Bheem — The Invincible Warrior to hit the big screen.

Animation Giant Picasso’s production, the animation movie on Bheem, the brave character from the Mahabharat is expected to be released soon, says Piyush Nimiyar, regional manager,Picasso Digital Media Pvt Limited.

Along with Lori-Ann Emerton, animation expert from Canada,Nimiyar was here to assess the progress of animation students of the Lucknow centre. “Their creativity is mind blowing,” says Ann as she interacts with over 100 budding animators. “Perhaps, creativity and artistry will give them an edge over counterparts from other countries,” says Ann,adding that only technological proficiency, productivity and a good command on English are not enough to excel in this dynamic industry.

Ann believes world class training at institutes like Picasso can take the industry to greater heights. She says films like Baal Bheem were an effort to connect with children. “Animation, being close to children’s hearts ,is being used to educate them about folklore and culture,” says Ann,adding animation has a different charm altogether. “There is something unreal yet so fantastic about seeing drawn pictures move on screen,” says Ann describing an animator as “an actor with a pencil”.
