The Delhi Crime Branch is set to visit Azamgarh to attach the property of two suspected Indian Mujahideen operatives — Ariz Khan and Shahzad Ahmed — wanted in the September 13,2008 serial blasts.

A Delhi court had issued the order of attachment of property on April 20,said a Crime Branch officer. On March 24,the Branch had also served a court notice regarding arrest warrants to the residences of the accused.

On Thursday,Ariz Khan’s aunt Anjum Sahar submitted an application to Azamgarh SP,stating that the property with Khan’s address, found in Delhi Police records, was not his. She added that Khan — a nephew of her husband Dr Fakhre Alam — had stayed at her house till 2003 while he was studying in an Azamgarh college.

His parents stay there.” Zafar added Dr Alam, who stays in Delhi, had informed them about the property attachment order. Though Azamgarh SP Ramit Sharma confirmed that he had received Sahar’s application,he is yet to receive any communication from the Delhi Police about the attachment of properties.
