‘Criminal cases against Siddiqui if voted to power’

Demanding Naseemuddin Siddiqui’s dismissal from the Cabinet in the wake of Lokayukta’s adverse report against him,Leader of Opposition and SP leader Shivpal Yadav on Saturday said he will lodge criminal cases against the minister if his party is voted to power. Shivpal also targeted Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Governor for remaining silent when Chief Minister Mayawati “plundered the state exchequer”. “The days of BSP are numbered. People have given a verdict in our favour as shown by the voting percentage. If the SP assumes power,the misdeeds of corrupt ministers and even some officials will be probed afresh,” Shivpal told reporters.

The SP leader also expressed gratitude to the people for supporting the party in the first five phases.
