CPI candidate ‘violates’ Model Code

An FIR has been lodged against the CPI candidate from Ghosi seat,Atul Kumar Anjaan,for the alleged violation of the model code.

An FIR has been lodged against the CPI candidate from Ghosi seat,Atul Kumar Anjaan,for the alleged violation of the model code. The case has been lodged by the Returning Officer of Mau at the Dakshintola police station.

State Chief Electoral Officer Anuj Bishnoi said the FIR has also been lodged against 50 unidentified persons under Section 171 of the IPC for allegedly making inflammatory speech. On Tuesday,an FIR under a similar section was also lodged by the police against the SP general secretary and the SP candidate from Ghosi Arshad Jamal.

According to Bishnoi,the Commission has cautioned the BSP candidate from Farrukhabad,Naresh Agarwal,to observe restraint while making speeches during the election campaign. The Commission has already issued a notice to the BSP candidate on April 6. The BSP candidate had submitted his reply on April 8. During campaigning in his constituency,Agarwal had said in the remaining three years of the BSP government,only the party’s district president and he would come to the rescue of the locals in case of an adverse situation.
