The police had received a tip-off that Yadav has been staying in Delhi and takes shelter during night at the house of a deputy SP in Ghaziabad.

A team is also camping in Lucknow following a tip-off that the MP would be reaching there by late Monday evening.” There were indications that Yadav might have decided to surrender before the court in Azamgarh,Allahabad or some other district.

Sources in the police said a deputy SP-rank official in Lucknow and another serving at Sitapur had extended help to Yadav while he is on the run.

Senior police officers have been collecting corroborating evidences to initiate disciplinary action against the two officials, sources said.

Yadav was named in the murder case after he and his men allegedly clashed with members of Ulema Council in Phoolpur on August 12. While Council members attacked Yadav’s convoy, the MP’s men had opened fire, killing a youth and injuring three others.
