Chests in embrace, UP couple shoot themselves dead with same bullet
Police say Anek Singh practised sorcery and that his wife Suman accompanied him when he performed a sorcery act early on Wednesday.

A 37-year-old man and his wife allegedly shot themselves dead in Uttar Pradesh after he embraced her from behind and fired a bullet on her chest. The bullet pierced her body and hit him, killing the couple on the spot on Wednesday, police said.
Police said that Anek Singh, a labourer who lived with his family in Chandigarh, came to Kheda village in Sambhal district on June 9 to attend his sister-in-law’s marriage, during which his mobile phone was stolen. As Anek had heated arguments with his wife Suman (33) over the lost phone, his in-laws arranged an old mobile phone for him and the couple went to their parental Khanpur village in Moradabad.
“Around 1 am on Wednesday, I heard gunshots coming out of my brother’s room. I rushed there and found their bodies lying in a pool of blood on the floor. Other members of the family also came and we informed police,”Anek’s cousin Shreepal told police.
“We have gathered information from family members and villagers that the couple did not have a good relationship and used to fight regularly. Anek Singh also practised sorcery and somehow managed to convince his wife to accompany him when he performed a sorcery act around 1 am on Wednesday,” said Moradabad (rural) SP Sandeep Kumar Meena.
“We are probing from where he got the murder weapon,” he said.
Meena also said the bodies had been handed over to family members after a postmortem examination. The couple are survived by two minor sons and a minor daughter.
