New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): After a gap of 26 years, Indian Army’s dog squad, along with their handlers, will march in this year’s Republic Day parade on January 26 in the national capital.There are 24 Labradors and 12 German Shepherds in the canine squad, who have been trained day and night so that they could walk in sync with their handlers. The Army has selected these 36 canines from its squad of 1,200 Labradors and German Shepherds that will march at the Rajpath before hundreds of people, including the chief guest, French President Francois Hollande. One of the dog handlers Captain Rishi Sharma said they have been practising from past four months and are looking forward to participate in the Republic Day parade. These dogs have been trained at the Remount and Veterinary Corps (RVC) Centre and College, which was established in 1960 at Meerut city. Another dog handler Naik DK Sahu said they practised three times in a day to prepare the dogs for the annual parade.
