Chandigarh University to set up ‘next-gen’ campus in Unnao

Starting from the 2025-26 academic session, the 43 programmes, “augmented by AI” will be across six streams -- engineering, business administration, health and life sciences, humanities, liberal arts, and legal studies.

The Chandigarh University (CU) has announced the setting up of its “AI-enabled next-gen” campus in Unnao that will offer 43 multidisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Announcing the launch at a press conference in Lucknow on Monday, CU Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu said: “The new campus aims to make quality education more accessible and affordable for students in Uttar Pradesh while supporting the state’s vision for AI-driven development.”

Launching the CU’s Lucknow web portal, UP Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said the state’s GDP would likely reach Rs 32 lakh crore by 2025 and creat 1.5 crore new jobs. He lauded Chandigarh University’s initiative as a perfect match for the state’s AI ambitions, noting that the AI City project has already attracted Rs 2,500 crore in private investment and will generate 50,000 jobs in the next five years.
