CBI registers cases in CMO murders

As per orders of Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court,the Lucknow Special Crime Branch of CBI on Saturday registered cases into the murders of two CMOs of Family Welfare Department,Dr Vinod Arya and Dr BP Singh. A CBI official confirmed that they have incorporated the FIRs lodged by the Lucknow police into the two murders and will investigate the separate cases. The court had ordered CBI investigation into the murder cases of CMOs and the alleged anomalies in NRHM schemes on July 27 while hearing a PIL. The state government had recommended probe into the three matters by the CBI on July 20. The CBI is yet to register case into NRHM matter. The CBI sources said that they already have asked for the case details,case diaries and the chargesheets in both the cases from the investigating officers (IOs) of the concerned Vikas Nagar and Gomti Nagar police stations of Lucknow. CMO Dr Vinod Arya was shot dead on October 29 last year in Vikas Nagar while Dr BP Singh was murdered on April 2 in Gomti Nagar.
