Briefly State: History-sheeter shot dead in Agra

A history-sheeter was shot dead by unidentified men in Agra’s Jagdishpura locality on Friday.

LUCKNOW: A history-sheeter was shot dead by unidentified men in Agra’s Jagdishpura locality on Friday. Thirty-five-year-old Bhura Yadav,against whom 27 criminal cases including murder,dacoity and kidnapping were lodged,was shot dead while he was getting a hair cut in Jagdishpura locality. The three assailants pumped two bullets into Yadav,killing him on the spot. Yadav’s nephew Virendra Yadav lodged an FIR against one Mulami alias Mulayam at the Jagdishpura police station alleging that the murder was a fallout of old rivalry with Mathura-based Mulami’s family.

Mother jumps into well with children

Azamgarh: A 35-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping into a well along with her two young children allegedly over family problem in Nai Gaon village under Mehnagar police station area. Police sources on Friday said that Rita had left the house with her two children Karishma (9) and Nandini (5) two days ago after a dispute with her husband Rajesh. Some villagers spotted their bodies in a well outside the village on Friday and informed the police. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.

Three killed as borewell caves in Barabanki:

Three youths were killed when mud caved in on them while cleaning a borewell in Pure Sukhlal village. Babu Rawat (28),Raju Yadav (25) and Lalta Gupta (27) were buried alive on Thursday while cleaning a borewell in a field,they said. Another youth was rescued by villagers in the incident,they added.

Veteran freedom fighter dead

Ghazipur: Veteran freedom fighter Raghunath Rai Sharma died at his native Khardeeha village here following prolonged illness. Sharma (98),who passed away Thursday evening,had taken part

in the freedom struggle and went to jail several times,family sources said.

Ten bonded labourers freedBhadohi

Ten bonded labourers working in a brick kiln were rescued after a raid in Chavar Navada village here,police said.On a tip off,local police carried out the raid on Thursday and freed them,Assistant Labour Commissioner R K Pathak said,adding that they had been working as bonded labourers for the past eight months. The kiln’s owner,Bharat Pratap Singh,has been arrested,he said. Eight of the freed labourers belonged to Chattisgarh and the other two from Mirzapur district,he said.
