BJP demands cops’ arrest for Barabanki custody death

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded arrest of policemen posted at Ghunghter police station in Barabanki for the “killing of a man in custody after framing him in a false case” on Tuesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded arrest of policemen posted at Ghunghter police station in Barabanki for the “killing of a man in custody after framing him in a false case” on Tuesday.

BJP national vice-president Vinay Katiyar, who visited the Bhitokar village, said the police arrested Gaya Prasad Maurya, accusing him of killing a five-year-old girl,Savita, while performing black magic. The girl was found dead in a field on June 11. The girl’s uncle Anil was arrested allegedly for helping Maurya in the human sacrifice.

Katiyar said the girl’s father Om Prakash told him that his brother had been framed in the case. Also, while the police claimed that Maurya was a tantrik,he was,in fact,a tailor.

Katiyar also demanded a second autopsy on the bodies of Maurya and the girl by SGPGI doctors.

According to police, the girl’s body was found in a decomposed condition with her throat and abdomen slit and one of her kidneys missing. However,Katiyar said the villagers told him that when they first spotted the body on June 11,it bore only minor injuries on eyes, chest and abdomen, apparently inflicted by crows.
