After inspecting construction sites of different infrastructure projects in Ayodhya on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Ayodhya would be ready as “the world’s most beautiful city” in the next one year.

The chief minister also visited the Ram temple, where he was told that 70 per cent of the temple construction work was completed. Addressing the media after inspecting the under-construction international airport in Ayodhya, the CM said that he carried out physical verification of various development projects launched by the central and the state governments in Ayodhya and also had a review meeting with officials on the progress of these projects.

Adityanath said the construction of a grand Ram temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra was going on at a war footing and it would be completed within the stipulated time.

The chief minister said the central and the state governments were spending Rs 32,000 crore on several projects for the overall development of Ayodhya.

“I can say with confidence that the pace at which all development projects are moving ahead, as per the vision and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ayodhya will be the most beautiful city in the country and the world within the next one year,” said Adityanath. Assuming that the coming monsoon season can hinder the progress of ongoing projects, the chief minister directed officials to expedite the construction work for the next 2-3 months by increasing manpower and start working in three shifts on specific projects to finish them even before rain begins creating hurdles.

Stating that a grand international airport is being built in Ayodhya for which 791 acres have already been provided and work is in progress to provide the remaining land required for the project, the CM said the airport would be ready by July and after the completion of the licencing process, Ayodhya would become one of the great destinations for domestic and international flights.

Earlier, addressing a gathering at the inauguration of the newly-constructed Shriramkritu pillar and Shriramlala Bhavan under Asharfi Bhavan Peeth, the chief minister congratulated Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Pujya Swami Shridharacharya Ji Maharaj for building a grand dharamshala and a guest house for devotees who would be visiting Ayodhya after the completion of the Ram temple. “Every ashram should do this. Preparations should start from now itself. Devotees coming from different parts of the country must get all facilities in Ayodhya. Anyone wishing to stay here in the service of the lord, or engage in spiritual practice, must be provided with all facilities. The government is doing excellent work in terms of providing basic facilities here,” said the CM.

The CM said the four-lane road connectivity would be provided from Rampath New Ghat to Ram Janmabhoomi via Lucknow Marg via Tedhi Bazar and Bhaktipath. After arriving in Ayodhya on Sunday, Adityanath first offered prayers at Hanumangarhi and then visited the Ram temple where he took part in ‘aarti’ and ‘parikrama’.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai gave detailed information about the progress of the temple construction work to the CM, who also inquired about the well-being of the labourers working there.

The Trust set up by the Centre to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya has set a target of completing the construction of ‘garbhagriha’ (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple by October, and opening it for devotees by installing the idol of Lord Ram between December 21, 2023 and January 14, 2024.
