Athletics: Omveer breaks own record

Omveer Singh of PAC West Zone clocked 1::39:57.97 seconds in the 20m km walk event of the 58th UP Police Athletics Championship,to break his own record of 1::41:47.18 seconds set-up in the year 2007.

Omveer Singh of PAC West Zone clocked 1::39:57.97 seconds in the 20m km walk event of the 58th UP Police Athletics Championship,to break his own record of 1::41:47.18 seconds set-up in the year 2007. Interestingly,through his endeavour,while Omveer established a new meet mark,PAC Central Zone athletes Anand Sharma and Dharmendra Kumar Yadav,who bagged the silver and bronze,respectively,also surpassed the old record timing. Dushyant Kumar emerged winner in the 100m race to emerge fastest athlete in the mens section. Sudha Sharma of Lucknow Zone emerged winner in the 10km walk. Reeta Upadhyay,Jitendra Kumar Singh,Sanjay Kumar,Renu Gupta,Anurag Singh,Usha Singh,Sumitra Patel,Vikas Singh and Rakhi Tomar too won golds on day-two of the meet.
