Two engineers suspended
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has suspended two executive engineers on alleged charges of corruption and laxity. Suspension order of the two executive engineers Upkar Kumar and Anshuman was issued by UPPCL Chairman Navneet Sehgal on Friday. Both of them have been suspended for showing laxity in inspection of transformers purchased by the UPPCL and corruption charges,said the chairman.
Tension along Haryana-UP border
Muzaffarnagar: Tension prevailed on the Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border with some locals from the neighbouring state allegedly damaging crops on Friday,police said. The farmers from Mawi village in the district alleged that they were beaten by the locals from Malhera village in Haryana and they destroyed their crops, SDM Sant Kumar said.

Two students held for vehicle theft
LUCKNOW: The Lucknow police today arrested two Class X students from Manak Nagar area in connection with an auto lifting case. The accused Neeraj Chowdhary,son of police constable Ram Babu Chowdhary and Anuj Kumar Singh,son of retired army personnel were arrested during a vehicle checking drive. According to the police,during a vehicle checking drive,they spotted two teenagers coming on a motorcycle. When the police asked them to stop,they tried to escape. The police chased and caught them at Babu Khera road.
3 hurt as crude bomb goes off
LUCKNOW: Two persons were killed and two others,including a constable,sustained injuries after a crude bomb exploded accidentally in Shahpur area of Muzaffarnagar district today.
