The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) is likely to move the Supreme Court to oppose the application for deferment of the verdict on Ayodhya title suit by the Allahabad High Court.
The board is likely to file an intervention application before the apex court to oppose the application for deferment for the verdict on title suit of Ayodhya dispute, said Zafaryab Jilani, member of the AIMPLB and also the convenor of the Babri Masjid action committee.
Yusuf Hatim Muchala,Mumbai based lawyer and chairman of the legal committee of the AIMPLB,is reaching Delhi on September 27 and a decision on filing the intervention application will be taken in the meeting, added Jilani who is also the counsel of the Sunni central waqf board,a party in the title suit on Ayodhya dispute.
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court was slated to deliver its verdict on the vexed issue of Ayodhya dispute on September 24. The Supreme court had on September 23,however deferred the delivery of the verdict by the Allahabad HC on an application for deferment of the judgment moved by Ramesh Chandra Tripathi.
Qasim Rasool Ilyasi, member of the working committee of the AIMPLB said Sunni Waqf Board, which is a party in the title suits, would move an application in the SC against deferment of the verdict, the AIMPLB if required will also move an application before the apex court on September 28. He said the board was in favour of the verdict on the Ayodhya title suit.
Terming the application moved by Tripathi to be a political conspiracy to delay the judgment by the Allahabad high court,Ilyasi said,If the move was being backed by the Congress it will not send a good message, the Center or the Congress party should not intervene. This was the most conducive atmosphere for the verdict. He added,It is being said that situation is not conducive for the verdict, but this is the best time as both the parties have said that they will honour the courts decision.
Ramesh Chandra Tripathi has no role in the title suits. It is a non-serious effort on the part of a person, who has moved the application in the Supreme Court only for delaying the verdict. If Tripathi was so sincere for the negotiated settlement of the dispute then why he did not appear before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court after completing the hearing and reserving its judgment ,had summoned all the parties on July 27,to explore the possibilities of reconciliation, asked Ilyasi.
In the past several efforts had been made for the negotiated settlement of the dispute but remained inconclusive and failed to break the ice. After all whatever verdict the Allahabad High
Court delivers it would be interim and ultimately the aggrieved party will move the SC, said Ilyasi adding This is not the time for any talks when the verdict is about to be delivered.
