Opposition Trinamool Congress breathed easy on Tuesday with Governor M K Narayanan not making any reference to the partys alleged links with Maoists that the chief minister has been harping since the joint forces began their operations in 2009.
The ruling CPM has often claimed it has submitted documents to the Central team that visited West Bengal recently to prove Trinamool-Maoist links.
Trinamools Partho Chatterjee, who is the Leader of the Opposition, said his party was happy that the Governor did not mention the allegations of the ruling party. Even he has not called them Maoists. The Governor has referred to them as Left-Wing Extremists, he said.
He,however, expressed dissatisfaction over the Governor not mentioning current unemployment and underdevelopment. We thought the Governor will deal with the present crisis in the state and will advice the government to resolve it, said Chatterjee.
The address was prepared by the government. So,it seems like an election campaign booklet of the ruling party. It has no direction for industries, employment generation and rural development. The government has tried to satisfy all,but failed, he said.
