TMC’s Kunal Ghosh takes fresh swipe at party MP Sougata Roy
Reacting to Ghosh's recent remarks, BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya said, "TMC will be finished due to infighting. Every day either one TMC worker dies or is injured due to infighting.

After four-time MP Sougata Roy asserted that it was Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee who had the “last word” in the party, its spokesperson Kunal Ghosh stated that Roy should remember that he too had contested an election against the West Bengal chief minister.
Ghosh was referring to the time when Roy had contested against Mamata Banerjee from Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Ghosh said, “Sougata da did not join TMC when the party was formed. He also contested against Mamata Banerjee, he should remember this.” Ghosh, who is a close associate of Abhishek Banerjee, recently spoke out over the Diamond Harbour MP’s photo not being displayed at a party meeting at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on November 23.
During the party meeting, Mamata Banerjee had said that due importance must be given to party seniors. Referring to her statement, Ghosh said, “What our party supremo said is right. Seniors must be given adequate respect. But it doesn’t mean they will continue to occupy posts and juniors will continue to struggle for years.”
The remark had prompted a response from Roy who had said: “Mamata Banerjee has the last word in the party. Abhishek Banerjee is also our leader and he is popular among the young generation. However, it is not necessary that Abhishek Banerjee’s photograph be there in every TMC banner. Mamata Banerjee’s photograph was there and that is enough.”
A senior TMC leader said, “We do not have any information that Mamata Banerjee has any problem with Abhishek. There may be some tussle between the old and new guard but that can be sorted out easily. What Kunal Ghosh and Sougata Roy are doing is damaging the image of the party. They are creating problems when there are none.”
Reacting to Ghosh’s recent remarks, BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya said, “TMC will be finished due to infighting. Every day either one TMC worker dies or is injured due to infighting. We are not bothered. The real face of TMC is coming out.”
