Students clashes in several colleges continued to remain unabated in the state with Trinamool Congress Chatra Parishad (TMCCP) entering into a scuffle with Congress Chatra Parishad at Rabindra Bharati University on Monday.
Congress students wing – Chatra Parishad – members claimed that the clash broke out after TMCCP members did not allow them to set up their unit at the college.
Deboleena Das,general secretary of the Congress Chatra Parishad, said while they were entering the college,TMCCP supporters attacked them and beat them up. They were not allowed to enter the union room too.
According to CP members of the college,12 of them were injured and four were shifted to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital as they were critically injured.
TMCCP members refuted the allegations and said that CP members first attacked them and tried to take control over the union room.
At North Bengal College too,a clash ensued between CP and TMCCP members and CP members demonstrated in the state capital in protest against beating up of their members.
