Bands that were once expelled from their parents basements for creating a ruckus found a new dimension when Blue Frog,a popular live music destination in Mumbai,opened doors to music lovers a few years ago. But the Lower Parel-based club that changed Mumbais live music scene with an array of local and international talent,wont be exclusive to Mumbai anymore. They citys hottest live music destination has plans of expanding their horizons to Delhi by the end of this year.
Though the coordinates are yet unknown,it is said to overlook Qutab Minar. Confirmed by a tweet,Blue Frog is in the process of finalising its plans to roll out the blue carpet in Delhi very soon. Though the management chooses to be tight-lipped until its all fleshed out,sources reveal that the Delhi Blue Frog,said to be a haveli that they are refurbishing,will be called The Kila.
A one-of-its kind four-in-one venue,it is likely to include a 6,000 sq ft live music venue,2,500 sq ft fine dine restaurant,2,500 sq ft open-to-sky courtyard for all-day dining and 10,000 sq ft terrace with unparalleled views of the historical monument. A 2,500 sq ft kitchen will dish out European cuisine for brunches as well as late-night dining. With space as a huge advantage,Blue Frog Delhi plans to take the live music scene to another level. Buzz has it that the venue will host concerts as well as sound and light show about the Qutab Minar.
